Celebrating 50 years<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In 1974, a dream took root with a loan of R27 000 from a mother’s pension savings and a humble team of 45 employees. Raubex was more than just a new name in the construction sector; it was founder Koos Raubenheimer’s pledge, at the age of 31, to build a future for South Africa, one solid, enduring structure at a time.<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Our first challenge? A bridge over the Vet River \u2013 a modest contract that laid the groundwork for a legacy of excellence and innovation. This was more than just a bridge; it was a passage to the future, connecting communities, facilitating commerce, and embodying the resilience and determination of a nation on the brink of transformation.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

As the decades unfolded, so our ambitions grew. The 1970s and 80s saw Raubex not only fortifying its reputation through the construction and maintenance of roads and bridges but also pioneering the industry in crushing operations, scaling mountains, and spanning rivers. Each project, from the Vaal River Bridge to the expansive roads from Kroonstad to Koppies, wasn’t just about asphalt and aggregates; it was about laying down paths to possibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crossing borders in the late 80s, Raubex’s hands shaped the terrains of most neighbouring countries starting with Lesotho, crafting access roads and infrastructure for the Lesotho Highlands Water Project. And as the world watched, we planted our flag firmly on the international stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The turn of the millennium brought new challenges and with them, new opportunities. Strategic acquisitions and innovations became our tools as we prepared for a landmark moment \u2014 the 2007 JSE listing. This wasn’t just a corporate milestone; it was a celebration of decades of dedication, a testament to the belief that from humble beginnings, giants are indeed born.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
